I would be extremely interested to know why you took down the photo of the boy in chains and replaced it with the boy on all fours.

I ditto Cricket here on the change of mind re: the picture posting... Curiouser and curiouser. A teaser-trailer for the early-bird blog checker?

I understand The Devil Probably currently has no distribution in the UK, but I REALLY want/need to see it. Can you or anyone help me out here? I seem to remember you posting info regarding a website that stocks arthouse/leftfield titles, but can't recall if this served the US only, any help'd be much appreciated, as I've read up on it and now have a ravenous desire to see it ASAP.

I love your website - at least the little I understand of it. I'm intrigued.

Later,

Nick.

nikolas: according to amazon.uk you can buy a VHS tape of Le Diable -- check out this URL:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004CSHK/imdb-uk/202-3747463-0759851

D. Cooper may want to maintain there was no reason for the photo swap, but we know better ;)

Thanks Cricket, unfortunately I don't currently own a VHS player, but I could envisage me hijacking a friend's with little prodding... However, just checked out the link and they're going for OUCH prices... I may have to obtain a region one edition somehow... as far as I can detect, Au Hasard Balthasar and Mouchette are the only generally obtainable Bresson works in the UK. I'll keep probing and remain an optimist though. Thanks for the link.

Maybe we're victims of a collective hallucination with the boy-in-chains photo...But it seemed SO real...

oh hey dennis,
Some friends and I are in this show next month and I just noticed youre in it as well. Excited to see your zines.
The first zine I ever bought was TeenFag, the serial killer issue. What was yours?
Actually, the piece Im submitting to Yerba Buena is from an awesome zine from 1972 called The Pederast Gayzette. I lucked up and found it one day at See Hear. The drawings in it are really beautiful.

oh, I forgot to include this:
THE ZINE UNBOUND: Kults, Werewolves and Sarcastic Hippies
Terrace Galleries: OCT 7 - DEC 30, 2005

This exhibition looks at independently produced artists' publications as a model of collaborative activity as well as an alternative exhibition space. The collective spirit of three noteworthy zines is profiled here: K48, based in Brooklyn, New York; Werewolf Express, based in Los Angeles; and Hot & Cold, based in Oakland. Selected art works and new commissions by the editors and contributors of each zine will cover the gallery walls, turning the exhibition space into a three dimensional zine experience. Also featured is a collection of zines dating from the 1980s to the 1990s from the archives of noteworthy gay fiction writer and zine publisher Dennis Cooper.

This exhibition explores YBCA's Big Ideas as part of its Future Shock series, showcasing experimental artistic vision and contemporary life.

Also featuring "The Zine Café"
Local poets and artists Amanda Eicher, Robert Arnold and David Benzler will be leading zine-making workshops through "The Zine Café" on select Thursdays and Saturdays. The workshops feature local guest lecturers, musicians, poets, and artists swapping skills, artwork and ideas. Visit www.YBCA.org for workshop details.
